RWD loves…our favourite place to source antiques

There’s nothing like escaping to a furniture market, art fair or design show for a few hours over a weekend and when it comes to sourcing antique pieces for projects, Church Street Antiques, also known as Marylebone Antiques and Alfies Antique Market, all located in Church Street, north west London is our first point of call. There’s such a diverse assortment of truly distinctive pieces, from beautiful ceramics and silver tableware to paintings and furniture collections – we never leave empty-handed! And with Alfies being an indoor market with a relaxed atmosphere and rooftop café, we can browse for hours come rain or shine.

Here are two ways in which we’ve incorporated antiques into our luxurious Bromptons project:

The elegant, restrained style of the antique Louise XVI armchair with dark mahogany fluted legs fits perfectly into the recess of the entrance hall of our Bromptons residential project. The clean lines imitate the design of classical columns, while antique gold mirror wall lights add a sense of luxury and grandeur.

A distinctive hexagonal black and white carpet is offset by an antique Louise XVI armchair upholstered in soft Paisley Volga linen. The striking contrast created by the patterned rug highlights the elegant lines of the antique armchair.
