How to decorate with flowers to brighten up your home

A bouquet of flowers is one of the best ways to treat yourself or spruce up a room in a snap before a party. Not only do they brighten and often completely transform a space but can entirely lift your mood. An interior design scheme and the story of a home truly comes together when the final touches are added. Flowers are an individual preference and adding them into an interior scheme injects a wonderful personal touch to the design. With spring in the air, we look at ways to use flowers to brighten up your home.

Let your stems and leaves go a little bit wild and anchor with ferns for a dramatic effect, as seen in the kitchen dining area from our Eaton Square project in Belgravia.

Simple single-flower bouquets, particularly orchids in this case, are a delicate addition to the contemporary living room from our Eaton Mews North project. Use two or three stems for a beautiful sweeping effect.

Don’t dismiss flowers with shorter stems. Display them in a glass vase, keeping the stems together using twine or colourful string, which will also make it easier to change the water. Relaxed reception room above from our Cornwall Penthouse project in Regents Park.

An easy tip for stylish centre pieces is to choose one bold flower and use lots of them. The beautiful blue and violet hues of these Hydrangea create a striking focal point in the dining area from our Cornwall Penthouse project.

A structured display of greenery in the entrance hall may not be bursting with colour but still creates a grand and eye-catching feature as you enter or welcome guests. The image above is the elegant entrance from our Broad Walk project that is luxurious and sophisticated yet warm and welcoming.

An elaborate display of autumnal branches, with bright orange and red berries are complemented by shades of pink and further harmonised by emerald accessories and antique mirror glass to create a statement entrance hall from our Buckingham Street project.
